This house was originally designed and built in 1960 by Ottawa architect Hart Massey as his own home. Cited in Harold Kalman’s two volume ‘History of Canadian Architecture,’ it represents the uniquely Canadian inflection of international style modernism in its deference to landscape. KWC has worked with the present owners over the last 20 years restoring and
adding to this unique home. Work has included estoring all windows and soffits and the roof; re-building the garage entry bridge and stairs; renovating the second floor to provide a library and guest room; and adding to the ground floor to provide a new office and renovated dining room.
