This project
involved the renovation of approximately
1000m2 of an existing convalescent home to accommodate the needs of an expanding
hospice care programme for the terminally ill. The primary aim of the renovations
was to ‘de-insitutionalize’ the existing facility in order to
provide a comfortable home-like atmosphere in keeping with the hospice philosophy
of community based care. Work was carried out in cooperation with hospice
volunteers in order to meet the budgetary restrictions of the fund raising
program.
