Health Canada had an 800 individual Non-human Primate research colony. These primates were housed in open housing arrangements - typically 16-20 in a large open area with exercise and sleeping accommodation - or in individual cages. To provide a better living environment for the NHPs Health Canada decided to upgrade a number of their existing cage rooms to open housing rooms. This project included the design and construction of a demountable enclosure system, and also required modifications to the base building systems.
