Rockcliffe Pavilion
-
The Rockcliffe Pavilion is a federally recognized heritage building located in Rockcliffe Park. Looking out on the Ottawa River toward Gatineau, the pavilion neighbours other important regional features including the Rockcliffe Lookout, the Rockcliffe Boathouse and Marina, the NCC River House, and the Ottawa River pathway.
The rehabilitation of the Pavilion will include restoration and preservation of the architectural precast concrete—a signature character defining element of the building and the area, in-kind replacement of the cedar shingle roofing system, and a complete retrofit of the basement including water proofing, new staff washrooms, and storage space.
To enhance this well-loved community venue, new accessibility features will be added to complement the existing ramp, such as tactile surface indicators to safely direct path of travel, and leading-edge indicators on stair treads for increased visibility.
